In June, mum and I walked up Moel Famau to watch the Queen’s Jubilee Beacon being lit. It was a fantastic event, with over 2000 Beacons being lit across the UK. The weather god’s were kind to us all and the sun shone brightly whilst over 500 people climbed to the top of this beautiful landmark in North Wales. Near the top, just when everyone was tiring, you could start to hear the Samba drums and the carnival spirit helped everyone with the last and steepest push! A quick rummy hot chocolate break later and of course just a few photographs of the gorgeous landscape and it was time to it light the flame! The band played, people danced and everyone had a fab time. We even spotted the flames and flares of other beacons as far afield as Liverpool and Snowdonia. I hope you enjoy my photographs of this historic event!
